Criteria for selection of winners
As you know, this year’s contest invites you to prepare and showcase one easy, affordable, and delicious dish that promotes health. Your task is to choose a recipe that is not only beneficial for health but also cost-effective and simple to make.
To help you select the best dish and achieve a high score, we are providing you with the judging criteria in advance. Understanding these criteria will guide you in preparing a dish that meets the contest’s goals. We wish you the best of luck!
The deciding criteria are as follows: –
Total marks will be 100, which are divided into 6 types of criteria or parameters. If we look at it in more detail, Criteria 1 to 5 will have 15 marks each i.e. a total of 75 marks and Criteria 6 will have 25 marks; if we add all the 6 criteria then the total will be 100 marks.
What are these six criteria?
- Ease of Cooking/Preparation (15 marks): Evaluate how straightforward the dish is to prepare, considering both the cooking and preparation processes.
- Affordability (15 marks): Assess the cost-effectiveness of the dish, focusing on how economically it can be made.
- Mise en Place (15 marks): Consider how well you organise your ingredients and equipment before cooking. This includes measuring, cutting, peeling, and setting up your cooking tools.
- Hygiene (15 marks): Demonstrate how carefully you maintain cleanliness during the cooking process. Proper hygiene is crucial for health.
- Presentation (15 marks): Showcase how attractively the dish is presented. This could involve using special serving dishes, garnishes, or side accompaniments (note: side dishes don’t need to be included in the video).
- Nutritional and Health Benefits Information (25 marks): Provide detailed information about the nutritional and health benefits of your dish. Explain why you chose this particular recipe for the competition.
The winners of the Jury Awards will be selected based on the sum of the marks obtained in these six criteria.
I hope we have made it very clear about the judging criteria. If you still feel you need more information or something is unclear, feel free to contact us, and we will be happy to clear them up.
Once again, all the best to you from all of us.
