As you know, this year’s contest invites you to prepare and showcase one easy, affordable, and delicious dish that promotes health. Your task is to choose a recipe that is not only beneficial for health but also cost-effective and simple to make.
To help you select the best dish and achieve a high score, we are providing you with the judging criteria in advance. Understanding these criteria will guide you in preparing a dish that meets the contest’s goals. We wish you the best of luck!
The judging parameters are as follows: –
Total marks 100. Number of parameters or judging criteria 6.
Parameters 1 to 5 – 15 marks each, (15 x 5 = 75) and parameter 6 – 25 marks.
Total marks 75 + 25 = 100.
- Ease of Cooking/Preparation (15 marks): Evaluate how straightforward the dish is to prepare, considering both the cooking and preparation processes.
- Affordability (15 marks): Assess the cost-effectiveness of the dish, focusing on how economically it can be made.
- Mise en Place (15 marks): Consider how well you organise your ingredients and equipment before cooking. This includes measuring, cutting, peeling, and setting up your cooking tools.
- Hygiene (15 marks): Demonstrate how carefully you maintain cleanliness during the cooking process. Proper hygiene is crucial for health.
- Presentation (15 marks): Showcase how attractively the dish is presented. This could involve using special serving dishes, garnishes, or side accompaniments (note: side dishes don’t need to be included in the video).
- Nutritional and Health Benefits Information (25 marks): Provide detailed information about the nutritional and health benefits of your dish. Explain why you chose this particular recipe for the competition.
